Silver Lake is a West Coast IPA for which we are trying out an experimental hop variety. We have stuck with our malt bill of dextrin, caramalt and Vienna malts for a balanced mouthfeel to showcase the hops. We are trying out HBC (Hop Breeding Company) 638 along with some classics that we know well, Citra and Chinook. HBC 638 gives us tutti-frutti type flavours of sweet fruits, citrus notes and berries, blending this with tropical Citra and piney Chinook gives us a fruit IPA with a touch of west coast pine.
